Two years ago, I had my first encounter with Yahho Farm when I received mikan (mandarin oranges) from my nephew's wife, Madoka-san. They were so sweet and juicy that I could not stop eating them! 

I would like to share more about Yahho Farm and their produce through Madoka-san’s introduction as she has been enjoying their mikan since young.

Introduction to Yahho Farm By Madoka-san 

Yahho Farm is a mikan farm run by three generations in Seiyo City, Ehime Prefecture. For decades, Bonpei-san and his son, Hotaka-san, have produced and delivered amazing mikan to many, including my family. Bonpei-san was schoolmates with my father, and we have been eating their farm’s mikan since my childhood days.

I love their mikan because it has the perfect balance of sourness and sweetness. Once you start eating, you cannot stop! They are super addictive! Before you realize it, you would have built a tower of mikan peels in front of you! Because unshu mikan have thin peel and are easy to eat, they are especially popular at family reunions in winter. I have fond memories of our family reunions, including the fights over mikan! 

Frozen oranges are also a great treat! When I was a little kid, I used to bring frozen oranges into the bath after a long day. I watched them float in the tub while enjoying their lovely fragrance. After they thawed, I ate them. The experience was heavenly!

Today, the world has to deal with the effects of global warming, which affects citrus cultivation. Even with the knowledge and techniques that Yahho Farm has acquired through three generations of cultivation experience, Bonpei-san and his staff have to face many challenges but they remain driven to produce delicious mikan for their customers. Their passion and dedication have ensured that the high quality and delicious taste of their mikan are never compromised.

In spite of the many challenges, Yahho Farm has successfully cultivated different kinds of citrus fruits. Since 2012, Yahho Farm’s "Seasonal Citrus Jewel Box”, a luxurious product comprising different types of seasonal citrus flavors, has been on sale.
